The battery storage project in Doberlug-Kirchhain has an output of 6.9 MW with a gross storage capacity of 7.6 MWh. Battery cells from LG Chem are used. The battery storage system is used to provide system services (in particular primary control power), as well as to generate revenue from optimization on the spot market and from avoided grid charges (Section 18 StromNEV) and is connected to the grid of Mitteldeutsche Netzgesellschaft Strom mbH. The battery storage system was completed and commissioned in 2022. The owner and operator of the system is Pelion Green Future (Pelion).
