The battery storage project in Karstädt, in the district of Prignitz, has a capacity of 15.8 MW and a gross storage capacity of 32 MWh. The battery storage system is used to provide system services (in particular primary control power), as well as to generate revenue from optimization on the spot market and from avoided grid charges (Section 18 StromNEV) and is connected to the WEMAG grid. The realization of the plant is planned for 2025.
