The battery storage project in Alfeld, in the district of Hildesheim, has an output of 137.5 MW and a gross storage capacity of 275 MWh. The battery storage system is used to provide system services (in particular primary control power), as well as to generate revenue from optimization on the spot market and from avoided network charges (§ 18 StromNEV) and is connected to the Avacon Netz GmbH network. Construction of the plant is planned for 2026.
